Divine Order 004

Forces of League of 20,000 Planets

Description[]

The League of 20,000 Planets was a faction in the Light Universe, and formed a large system of government for its (presumably) 20,000 member planets. Ultimately the league of 20,000 planets was under the control of the Divine Order and thereby His Divine Shadow, it is uncertain if the league existed prior to the existence of the Divine Order, or if it was simply one of the many political tools used to bring the bulk of the human race under insect control. The league's overwhelming military hegemony was key to securing the Divine Order's power over the Light Universe.

Appearances[]

The main appearances of the league of 20,000 planets are largely in visits to the Cluster, as the crew of the Lexx flee the Divine Order and only return to their territory in order to retrieve more protoblood for Kai. During the Cleansing in Lexx 1.4 "Giga Shadow" the inhabitants of the League of 20,000 planets are brought to the Cluster where they are stripped of their flesh to provide protein for the Giga Shadow, essentially resulting in the downfall of the league as its member worlds are scoured of intelligent life. The only truly confirmed member of the league is destroyed as it is revealed that the Cluster was merely the hiding place of the Giga Shadow, and collapses as the last of the insects is revealed.

In Lexx 2.13 "Twilight" it is revealed that the bodies of the previous divine shadows are sent to the planet Ruuma whose unique properties allow them to remain in an undead state. It is unclear if the planet was a member of the league of 20,000 planets however as it may have simply been the property of the Divine Order.

It is believed that the planet B3K may have been a member world of the league of 20,000 planets, as Zev was born there, and later sentenced by the judicial system of the Cluster. However, it is unknown if the Wife Bank to which Zev was sent was located on B3K itself, or precisely what her custodial status was, as the wife bank appeared to be a form of enslavement and may have accepted girls from outside the league of 20,000 planets.

Woz is similarly likely to have been a member of the League of 20,000 Planets, though its insignificant and seemingly lawless population leaves this unclear.
